In connection with the error 7 - ive found that it might be that windows firewall has decided to start blocking the gw.exe- therefore you should go to the settings of firewall (this goes for your antivirus as well) and add gw.exe to the allow list (in effect unblocking it). Also as Arenanet has mentioned it is best to send support your error - Ive visited the support site and searched the codes - they tell you how to fix the problem, if it doesn't work you should contact them.

I was actually able to play perma yesterday so my lag has gotten a lot better. Anyone else notice the lag isnt bad anymore?
I got 1 spike yesterday but I never rubberbanded over the whole screen and stuff.

Yeah it isn't so bad for me(hence i stopped posting ). I still get the odd error/lag which causes me to dc or lag out for 5 to ten seconds but it tends to be once or twice a day max if at all which tbh isn't that big of an issue.

ironically, ever since i contacted support 4 or 5 days ago my lag has almost vanished. i still ping poorly (~200-400 to US servers) but tonight and last night only 1 spike each which was about 4-7 secs long and no err 7s.
odd but not reassuring enough to play my survivors.

Excuse me, last ping 46ms?
You... have NOTHING to complain about. I get 340ms ping on American servers, 500ms+, or 15sec lag spikes on Euro servers, and I'm on 26mbps private cable.

Well Its the average ping of 23,234ms i'm complaining about, rather than the one off 46ms, its so irratic i can hardly play at the moment.

ive had terrible lag ever since that last big update, a couple weeks now, im in the US (washington state), i have checked with my isp, defraged the computer, ran 3 diff antivirus, like 5 diff anti malware apps, uninstalled and reinstalled gw (used -image so the client wouldnt have to d/l any updates and slow me down more), and even with 4 gig of ram, no other programs running and core duo athlon 64 bit, good video card, etc, i cant get the lag down, after 4 years of playing this game is just un-playable now due to the lag and amount of dc i get, doesnt matter what district i map to, same thing every time, i know 2 ppl that have already quit bcoz of this, and i'll prolly give it another week before i /uninstal too, before that update, i had no problems, would never lag or disconnect, now even loading into an outpost is like a 50/50 gamble, ive just had to totally give up on pvp, my average ping pretty much stays between 2-4k.

I dunno but I've been seeing spikes consistently for the last two or three days. It's becoming unplayable.

It took me 15 minutes to finally be able to log in earlier. lol
Arena Net's support regarding this issue is the same as what my IP would ask me to do, frankly, i am tired of doing that, make a direct connection to to the net and blah blah blah... they think I haven't done that before making any accusation, its useless to push the problem to the client's side. I've done the direct connection bit hundreds of times, no survey for you
I think I'll just have to live with it and enjoy the good connection from time to time and curse something when the connection is bad.

Wow lucky you. And you are getting lag? I'm on 0.81mbs and I don't get any. Guess it could be just location I've read something about the futher you are away from hubs the more chance you have of lag and disconnects.

Lag has been a pain for me again. Switching districts doesn't help anymore. I contacted my provider before contacting support. My upload and download times are at max for my connection speed.
Got 3 quick responses from support, telling me different things to try, no help. This was their 3rd response:
Thank you for the update.
I am escalating your ticket for further assistance. Once your ticket has been reviewed someone will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
Regards,
Robert
